解读雅思阅读的长难句（5）

题目(一)：

解析：

　　本句的主句为“The fact was cause for much English celebration”;“that Johnson had taken on the Academies of Europe and matched them”为that引导的同位语从句，做The fact的同位语;括号中部分起到解释说明的作用。
